In this part we listen to another musical performance – dedicated to Pluto and Persephone, the daughter of Demeter, underlined with psychedelic images and dances.
Afterwards mathematician and music researcher Hans Cousto holds an interesting speech about working with hallucinogens. He says, that perception itself is not measuable, only the trigger and the reaction are. Psychedelic experience means to him to see more and to realize, that there is far more to this world than what can be physically explained.
Dr. Franz X. Vollenweider from Switzerland talks about form and gestalt of LSD and about the neurological receptors, which psycho-active substances cling to.
"The Philosopher's Stone" is a multi-part documentary about the LSD Symposium in Basel, Switzerland, which took place in 2006 to celebrate the100th birthday of LSD-discoverer Dr. Albert Hofmann. This contemporary document shows, besides the 100-year old Albert Hofmann, also many stars and scientists and their attitude towards and experiences with LSD, for example German rapper Thomas D of the rap-formation "Die fantastischen 4" (The Fantastic Four), as well as other icons of the acid scene.
Albert Hofmann died at the age of 102 and thus these are among the very last recordings of the world famous "psychonaut", a term coined by the scene. It is a last extensive and informative journey concerning the topic by Hofmann among his closest friends and admirers. Join us on this very special trip through the history of LSD, his discoverer and those icons of the acid scene. Hear some statements from the Beatles, Jimmy Hendrix and others on their experiences and insights. Every Friday we will upload another part of the documentary, which is also available in German on our "Sirius Channel" here on Youtube. Have fun!
