Linear Differential Equations: Example 5: Electric Circuit
In this video I go over another example on linear differential equations and this time expand further into the application to an electrical circuit from example 4. In that example, I assumed that the circuit was powered by a battery producing a constant voltage, but in this video I see what happens when instead we use a generator with an alternating current, modeled with a trigonometric function. The resulting solution shows that the current becomes positive and negative periodically. This differs to that when a battery is used, which resulted in the current approaching a limiting value. This is a very interesting video on some of the mathematics involved in electric circuits, so make sure to watch this video!
