A video livestream of the sermon captured the moment Bishop Mar Mari Emmanuel, of the Assyrian Aramaic Church in Sydney’s Wakeley neighbourhood, was attacked. Emmanuel received non-life-threatening injuries in the attack, which also left three other people hurt. It was not immediately clear who attacked Emmanuel, what exactly he was attacked with, or what motivated the stabbing.
