2024 RECIPE UPDATE. I now use 400-500g each of fresh turmeric and fresh ginger. I've also replaced the organic raw sugar with Golden Monkfruit Sweetener, a less refined more natural product.

INGREDIENTS
Bunch of freshly picked young pine needles (250 Grams picked needles)
3 Organic Grapefruit
3 Organic Lemons
4 Tins Organic Beans
150 Grams Citric Acid
150 Grams Fresh Organic Turmeric
150 Grams Fresh Organic Ginger
25 Grams Fennel Seeds
Filtered Water
Whole Black Peppercorns (activates the turmeric)
750 Grams Organic Raw Sugar
2 Large Tablespoons Organic Coconut Oil (activates the turmeric)
2 Large Tablespoons Organic Raw Honey
2 Large Tablespoons Organic Turmeric Powder

5 Litre Pot with Lid
Large Strainer
Fine Sieve
Masher
Wooden Spoon

METHOD
Soak & wash pine needles and citrus fruit in organic fruit & vegetable rinse.
Rinse tinned beans under running water to remove brine and place into pot.
Place the citric acid into the pot with the beans & mash together well.
Thinly slice the turmeric & ginger and place into the pot.
Pick the pine needles from the stems & place in pot.
Place the fennel seeds in the pot.
Cut the citrus into pieces and place in the pot (placing the fruit on top of the needles will stop the needles from floating).
Add peppercorns to the pot (these activate the turmeric, they’ll be strained out & you wont taste them).
Fill to just under the top with filtered water.
Slowly bring to the boil, making sure to gently run a wooden spoon along the bottom of the pot a few times to ensure the beans don’t stick.
As it comes to the boil, use a ladle to remove the impurities as they rise to the surface. Bring to boil then turn down to a rolling simmer for 4 hours *with the lid on*.
While hot, strain the liquid, use your masher to squeeze all the liquid out.
Clean the pot.
Pour the strained liquid thru a fine sieve back into the clean pot.
To the liquid add the sugar, coconut oil, honey & turmeric powder.
Whisk a few times to dissolve the ingredients as you bring it to the boil.
As it comes to the boil, remove the scum.
Turn down to a rolling simmer for 2 hours.
After 2 hours it will have reduced by half to about 2 litres and be thick & syrupy.
Pour thru a fine sieve into container to cool.
Once cooled, refrigerate overnight.
The coconut oil will have solidified so give it a whisk to mix thru the elixir.
Pour the elixir into the clean glass jars ready for use.
This elixir will store well in the fridge for many months.

Recommended use is to mix 1-2 tablespoons of elixir to: juice of 2-3 freshly squeezed organic oranges, topped up with organic coconut water & sweetened with organic liquid stevia.

All the amounts of ingredients can be adapted to taste & you can add it to whatever your favorite drink is. Play around with it a little to find the right combo for you.
