Today was a mixed bag. Went for a fish and met 3 youngsters out for a bit of redfin fishing using worms. I showed them how to set up a carp bait using bread, and caught a nice mirror carp in a short time, which I was pretty stoked about. I then reset the rod, went back to lure fishing and soon after watched the rod fly off the bank into the water. Despite going for a swim and dragging a heavy jighead through the area, the rod was lost. Maybe some lucky fisherman will snag it in coming weeks. Good luck to them if they do.

Oh well, it was fun anyway.

Thanks to Les who took the camera while I fought and landed the carp.
