They just want to use Remdesivir, which has contributed to most of the deaths in this pandemic. Remdesivir got an FDA emergency approval, which by law FDA cannot approve any other emergency approval for any other drug.
Remdesivir is usually given when the patient is in the last stages of life or put on a ventilator. They need to start treatment at the first symptoms not at the end of life.
