Translink Glider VanHool Exqui City 3214 (HGZ8214) Bus Ride HD

My first video of a bus ride on the Translink Glider that operates in Belfast and has done since September 2018. This video is more the sound of the engine than anything as I believe it is a V6 or a V8 Paccar unit that powers these buses although the setup is hybrid rather than direct drive and the sounds of these new Belfast buses does sound similar to a Class 153 or a Class 156 train that I used to ride on when I lived in England.

These new buses are like a mix of a bus and a train because you will need to buy the ticket at the bus stop halt before you board but I use a Translink Daylink Card that is similar the Oystercard that is used in London and I top that up at the bus stop halt.

My thoughts about these new buses are positive but they can get quite busy in peak times. Although at times they do have guards on the buses. You cannot buy a ticket on board the bus and if you do not buy a permit to travel (a ticket or a pass) then you will risk getting a penalty fare.
