Prickly pear removal

Removing a 17 year old prickly pear cactus, the root base of this prickly pear was 14 inches across. And the paddles of the prickly pear had grown through a cyclone fence. This mainly required a lot of chopping and hacking. We can not dig the root out because of proximity to phone lines. So the prickly pear root will be salted.
