Heirs!
Galatians 4:1 Now I say, That the heir, as long as he is a child, differs nothing from an eved [slave], even though he is master over all of them; 2 But is under guardians and stewards of the bayit [home] until the time that has been set by his abba.
Shaul uses ‘emancipatio’ (emancipation) and ‘adoptio’ (adoption) language to portray the legal status of Israel as it relates to Covenant Torah.
Galatians 4:3 Even so, when we were children, we were in slavery under the elements of the olam hazeh [this world].
So both the Jews and those in the nations are all viewed equally as minors without proper legal status until they accept Messiah and attain covenant status….
If they don’t, they’re all still under the elements of the world, whether Jewish or Roman.
Without Yahusha’s blood ratification there was no genuine claim to being heirs of Abraham’s promise…apart from faith even the physical descendants of Abraham are still minors in the household of יהוה.
Shalom, Libby
