Tania Ericksen, the director of the Danish Medicines Agency, fainted in the middle of a press conference when it was announced that Denmark is suspending AstraZeneca vaccination of its citizens.
The Danish General Directorate of Health considers that there are other vaccines on the market to continue immunising its population, when the epidemiological situation in the country is currently under control, with a stable cumulative incidence of around 129 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days. So far, the bulk of the vaccines administered in the country correspond to the Pfizer/BioNTech vaccine, based on mRNA, but they have not ruled out the possibility of using it again in the future, if the pandemic worsens, putting the health system at risk.
