Silent Gears High Speed Bench Test 01

This is the first high speed (800+ RPMs) bench test of a "silent gear" PIE setup. This video also demonstrates that all tests don't go smoothly! For this build I am using rather light weights (haven't actually weighed them yet) made from 3/8" smooth steel rod. The teeth on each of the gears are made from 14MM pitch industrial timing belt which is cut to size and riveted to the steel idler pulleys. Spinning this by hand indicated that there is definite thrust and if timed to push sideways it would easily tip over. With the weights removed there is no appreciable vibration, and with them locked "inward" there is no thrust. Thanks for watching!
