Santa Cruz gets sidetracked by a coordinated counter-psyop and votes "Aye" on surveillance prison.
My call to action interview that day: https://futurepeak.net/audio/43_FutureNow2023_KatSaariGabsBillyS.mp3
Santa Cruz City Council voted to approve the grant from the Dept. of Homeland Security to install 14 Flock Safety Cameras in and around Santa Cruz County. Don't be fooled. These cameras will eventually be used against you, as they are in China & the UK. For the grant money, these cameras must be used for one or more of the following (strings attached):
1. Enhance Information and Intelligence Sharing and Cooperation with Federal Agencies,
including DHS (National Priority)
2. Enhance the Protection of Soft Targets/Crowded Places (National Priority)
3. Enhance Cybersecurity (National Priority)
4. Enhancing Community Preparedness and Resilience (National Priority)
5. Combatting Domestic Violence Extremism
6. Strengthen Emergency Communications Capabilities through Planning, Governance,
Technology, and Equipment
7. Enhance Medical and Public Health Preparedness
8. Strengthen Information Sharing and Collaboration
9. Enhance Multi-Jurisdictional/Inter-Jurisdictional All-Hazards/Whole Community Incident
Planning, Response & Recovery Capabilities
10. Protect Critical Infrastructure and Key Resources (including Food & Agriculture)
11. Enhance Election Security (National Priority)
Police Chief Bernie Escalante wants to add more with department funds, and suggests that Flock Safety team wants to push for up to 44 cameras in and around the county.
Local residents showed up and dominated public comment for several hours with comments focused on Israel/Palestine.
What a colossal waste of time.
The focus on today's meeting should be been centered on the approval of the PRISON INFRASTRUCTURE that is being built around Santa Cruz residents. The irony is: we protest the "open-air" prisons in occupied Palestine while our own council members vote to build one RIGHT HERE. Priorities, folks.
The push to disrupt a council meeting with comments about the war "over there" was grossly inappropriate and misplaced. My gut tells me that it was an intentional disruption and distraction.
It's not about your safety or security...it's about CONTROL. PLEASE WRITE TO THOSE WHO PUSHED THIS FORWARD:

We have a serious shortage of people with a backbone and courage in office right now. Get these idiots out. Run for office.
