Located on the north shore of Lake Meredith, Texas this is a good place to take a break about midway in the country. It is one of the most meticulously well kept places I've ever camped and it is completely free. Luckily it is about 30 miles off the beaten path and that keeps the tramp highway scum away. As long as it isn't trashed like a rest area it should remain free. I actually had a decent AT&T signal too. A word of warning, while it does have clean toilets there isn't a drop of drinking water for 20 miles. Happy Trails.
