Broadcaster Fired For Saying "Kansas Is The Fag Capital Of The World" Job Opening!!!

This dude had a little "hot mike" problem it would seem. I missed this one, but I don't have a tel lie vision and don't watch it so why would I see it. Why would he even say anything close to this if he knew he was about to go live? Stupid. Then, talk about crawling back to try to save your job with an apology. What a wimp. If you are in that business, don't say anything you don't want someone else to hear.

If you said it, you meant it. You might as well own it. Don't crawl away from it. I think he was wrong about Kansas being number one, I could think of other places that are worse, but I could be wrong. I can't see grouping an entire state under one assumption. He can beg and plead but once that statement went out it was all over.

The Cincinnati Reds have suspended the team’s play-by-play announcer after a hot microphone captured him uttering a homophobic slur during a live broadcast Wednesday. Veteran announcer Thom Brennaman, can be heard referring to an unnamed place as “one of the f** capital of the world” during a break in a double-header between the Reds and the Kansas City Royals.

Brennaman has been announcing games for the Reds since 2006. He has also worked on other events for Fox Sports, including the NCAA’s BCS Championship among others. (Not any more)
