Ice Out in the Rain is a song by Scottish singer Sheena Easton, released in 1982 as a single from her album Madness, Money and Music. The song was written by Mick Leeson and Peter Vale, and produced by Christopher Neil. It is a pop ballad with lyrics about a broken relationship and the feeling of being left out in the cold. The song reached number 29 on the UK Singles Chart and number 17 on the US Billboard Adult Contemporary Chart.
Lyrics:
I was once your diamond, you said you were mine
And you burned inside me, when you looked in my eyes
I shouldve seen clear through you, the crystal was clear
When I reached to touch you, the magic disappeared, it was fading, fading
Chorus:
Like ice out in the rain, so cold inside when you feel the pain
Lost illusions just die away, I feel the same
Left like ice out in the rain
I was once your diamond, and they last so long
The light burns forever, nothing ever goes wrong
I was so mistaken, I relied on you
When you took away the fire, all you left me was the truth, I was dying, dying
Chorus
(Ice out in the rain, ice out in the rain)
Chorus
(Ice out in the rain, ice out in the rain)
