Irish ceili dancing is the traditional group dancing native to Ireland, first taught by tradition and then, in 1939, put into writing by the Irish dancing commission. The dances we teach are those generations-old dances handed down through the years, as well as newly developed original choreographies.
cèilidh (/ˈkeɪli/ KAY-lee, Scottish Gaelic or céilí (Irish:) is a traditional Scottish and Irish social gathering. In its most basic form, it simply means a social visit.
In contemporary usage, it usually involves dancing and playing Gaelic folk music, either at a home or a larger concert at a social hall or other community gathering place.
