and a variety of other reasons, these individuals also tend to prey upon others without compunction or
remorse. In fact, their lives are characterized by the repeated senseless and callous use and abuse of
others. Over the years we’ve come up with almost as many labels for these disturbing personalities as
we have unsatisfying explanations for their puzzling behavior. They are the predators among us,
and the only known intra-species predators at that. These days, they’re most commonly referred
to as psychopaths.
