"The Bible Unearthed: The Making of a Religion" has 4 Episodes — The Patriarchs, The Exodus, The Kings and The Book.
Please Note - The Biblical Exodus occurred in southwestern Arabia, in a province called Mizraim (H4714 - ?????????), or Misr, a location now near modern day Yemen, not Egypt (Exodus 11:4). Ancient Egyptians never witnessed any of the stories of the Jewish patriarchs Abraham, Joseph, Moses, and that the land of the Nile valley knew neither Pharaohs nor any Israelites. Egypt was never the land of Exodus and Palestine was never the Promised Land.
An archaeological and biblical investigation, the film visits digs in Egypt, Jordan and Israel, including Megiddo, the cradle of biblical archaeology. It helps us to understand some stories of the Bible in their political, geographical, historical and cultural contexts. How much of the Bible is myth and how much of it is history? When and why was the Old Testament written, and by whom?
The Bible becomes clear that it contains fictions, myths and fables, many stories are inconsistent and contradict. This is obvious that our history on the earth is not just 6000 years old. Archeological evidence using carbon dating show man's presence tens of thousands of years ago, probably over a 100,000 years ago.
