Are Christians Supposed to Fight? Did Your Forefathers Fight?

Recently, someone had sent me an article titled, “Are Christians Supposed to Fight,” at first, I was a bit offended and thought of the possibilities of receiving this from someone who did not know his left hand from his right.
After a couple minutes, I began to ponder on the natural and the spiritual, and then the spiritual and then the natural and where the two may meet (In the end, the natural is a manifestation of the spiritual -Blessings, cursings, sowing, reaping – Galatians 6:7), that is when it comes to the reality and tangibility of who we are as a people under God.
And what came to me after pondering a bit, was the Word of God with such scripture as Malachi 4:3 “And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the Lord of hosts.”
Or what of Psalm 101:8
“I will early destroy all the wicked of the land; that I may cut off all wicked doers from the city of the LORD.”
Romans 12:21
“Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.”
