The first books of the torah (deuteronomy, kings, josiah etc) were authored by scribes for judah king josiah circa 615 BC, using in part stories from northern kingdom Israel - most bible experts believe genesis was written later, with the largest part scribbled in Babylon during the reign of King Cyrus - check details in the book 'The Bible Unearthed' written by Finkelstein and Silberman (jewish professors)
