Cassie Ventura Speaks Out After Video of Sean "Diddy" Combs' Assault Surfaces
Cassie Ventura has publicly addressed the 2016 video showing her then-boyfriend Sean "Diddy" Combs assaulting her in a hotel. On Instagram, she thanked her supporters and emphasized the significance of addressing domestic violence. Ventura described how the abuse profoundly affected her and stressed the importance of believing victims.
"I offer my hand to those still living in fear. Reach out to your people, don't cut them off. No one should carry this weight alone," she wrote, expressing solidarity with others experiencing similar situations.
Diddy issued an apology after CNN released the surveillance footage on May 17, showing him chasing Ventura, grabbing her by the neck, and kicking her. "I hit rock bottom -- but I make no excuses," he said, taking full responsibility for his actions.
In response, Ventura's lawyer stated that Combs' apology was self-centered and did not fully acknowledge the harm caused to his victims.
In November 2023, Ventura settled a lawsuit against Combs, which included allegations of trafficking and assault. Court documents revealed that Combs frequently subjected Ventura to physical abuse during their relationship.
Combs is currently facing multiple civil lawsuits alleging various forms of abuse, with the latest filed by former model Crystal McKinney, who claims she was drugged and assaulted by Combs in 2003.
