Josh Sigurdson reports on the ground near Antequera, Spain on the ancient impressive megalithic structures known as the Dolmen Of Menga and the Dolmen Of Viera.
These structures both predate Stone Henge and are considered likely the largest megalithic structures known in Europe.
No one is completely sure when the structures were built, but they are guestimated to be around 5,000 to 6,000 years old.
The Dolmen of Viera, the younger of the dolmens was built around 3500BC while the Dolmen of Menga was built around 3750BC which is based on soil and surface dating.
The structures were well preserved underground for much of their existence so it's hard to put them to far back from the accepted date range.
They are covered in a mound of soil called a tumulus and in the case of the Dolmen of Menga, contain stones as large as 200 tons! The Dolmen of Menga also has an incredible "well" or tunnel dug deep into the ground past the 3rd column.
They are considered to be burial sites but this is a contested issue that won't likely end any time soon.
But again, this site proves the incredible abilities of the ancients to build massive structures which does indeed cast a shadow on the 3,000 BC claim regarding the beginning of ancient civilizations which of course places like Gobekli Tepe completely contradict.
