Flourish for Wind Band by Ralph Vaughan Williams

Vaughan Williams completed this short work for wind band in 1939 as the opening music for the ‘Music and the People’ pageant in the Royal Albert Hall, London. The work was thought lost after Vaughan Williams death in 1958, but a copy of the work was later found and then published in 1971. It has subsequently been adapted for symphony orchestra and brass band.

The work is comprised of a short single movement.
