The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued an arrest warrant for Russian President Putin’s alleged war crimes, specifically related to his purported involvement in the abduction of children from Ukraine, the Daily Mirror reports.

The court said in a statement that Putin “is allegedly responsible for the war crime of unlawful deportation of the population (children) and that of unlawful transfer of population (children) from occupied areas of Ukraine to the Russian Federation.”

On Friday, the ICC also issued an arrest warrant for Maria Alekseyevna Lvova-Belova, who holds the position of Commissioner for Children’s Rights in the Office of the President of the Russian Federation, for similar accusations.
