I talked about how to stop an act of sin, how to stop a particular type of sin, and how to stop sin altogether. Now I will answer the question "How can I stop sin in progress?"
When you are in the middle of sin how can you stop it? There are a set of qualities mentioned by Paul in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
When you notice one of these qualities in something while you are in the middle of sin, let it be a sign to you that the Holy Spirit will testify either against you if you continue in your act of sin or for you if you stop.
