.... They thought they had proven the curvature of the earth... they were downright giddy they finally found an argument they could really use against flat earthers .... the story was picked up everywhere ... but they were wrong! They ended up proving there is NO curvature.
At one point in time, quite frankly, we would've called these types of people, dumb fucks, or if you wanted to be more polite, dip shits and morons. While those characterizations still hold in such situations, I'm encouraging folks to not use such inflammatory rhetoric.... even if well deserved. From here on out let's try to use more inclusive, loving terms, such as.... misguided dupes, or, ignorant suckers. "Try", being the operative word there, cause I'm no angel.
