DavidPFranceTV Interview #18 - Erik J. Williams - Update of Protests in Philadelphia
DavidPFranceTV INTERVIEW #18
ERIK J. WILLIAMS
Attorney, Ordained Minister, Writer, Speaker
Washington DC
For his 18th interview, David speaks with Erik Williams for the second time. In this interview, Erik reveals that he is in Philadelphia since the Pandemic and gives us his perspective of the current protests and what is happening overall with this reaction of the death of George Floyd and this sudden turn of events happening around the world.
Growing up in a working-class family in Philadelphia, Erik witnessed first-hand racial profiling and police brutality (excessive force). At an early age, he swore that he would one day fight for the rights and freedoms of those falsely and unjustly trapped within the criminal justice system.
Following his graduation from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, DC, Erik practiced law at a preeminent, small law firm in Miami, Florida, where he sharply-honed his craft representing clients in complex criminal and civil cases in both state and federal court.
Erik's diligent representation of his clients resulted in substantial personal injury and wrongful death settlements, including one settlement for nearly two million dollars ($2,000,000.00). While in Miami, Attorney Williams also successfully defended clients in a wide-range of criminal defense matters, both felonies and misdemeanors.
Indeed, it was during those early years in Miami that Erik learned a crucial lesson about the law: When a parent is seeking monetary retribution for the wrongful death of their child, results count. When a person is facing 20 years to life in prison on felony charges, victory matters. Armed with this real world knowledge and experience, Erik fought vigorously for the legal rights and interests of his clients for several years in Miami.
Upon his return to Washington, DC over a decade ago, Erik practiced law for nearly 10 years at one of America's powerhouse corporate law firms, where he worked on a number of high-profile cases, including nationwide products liability cases and numerous white-collar crime investigations of multinational corporations. Seeking to return to his small firm “roots” of providing personal, individualized legal services to his clients, he left the large corporate firm and started his own law firm in 2014.
Since the opening of the Law Offices of Erik J. Williams, P.L.L.C., Erik has successfully represented a diverse range of clients who seek justice and redress against an assortment of corporate and institutional “Goliaths.”
In addition to his law practice, Erik is an ordained minister, a published writer, and a highly sought after speaker.
