This video by Iasos - created in 1980 and released in 1982- was one of the very first “new age videos”, spearheading that genre. The visual quality is far from current standards, since this was produced in 1980 - BEFORE video effects software, and used A/B rolling of two
¾” U-Matic video recorders, then recorded onto a Type C machine.
This project began as my intent to capture in video my multi-media shows that I then used in concerts, using 2 slide projectors and a dissolve unit.
It was also my attempt to create visuals that were tightly synced to the music.
(my very first attempt at "video editing")
The many wonderful artists that contributed to this project are all credited on the DVD, but I would like to especially thank and acknowledge the artist Gilbert Williams, and the artist Bernard Xolotl whose image you now see, and the video-artist Ken Jenkins, who helped me in the production of this project.
In many ways, this video functions as a “showcase” for many of the top visionary artists of that era.
