Perhaps the most amazing moment of Sunday night's Super Bowl occurred before the game itself even began. Legendary singer Gladys Knight had been chosen to sing The Star Spangled Banner during last week's game. Mrs. Knight didn't try to embellish the national anthem. She didn't change it or "make it her own" as so many pop stars today are wont to do. Gladys Knight simply stepped out onto that field and nailed each and every note.

CNN's Don Lemon was worried that singing The Star Spangled Banner would hurt Gladys Knight's career. Based on what I saw, I don't think she has anything to worry about.
