It will soon be all over except for the weeping and wailing and gnashing of teeth. In about 24 hours, it will start to be clear which side of the gaping ideological divide in the U.S. has won and who has lost.

The problem is – unlike any election here in the past – if the Republicans lose control of one or both houses of Congress, the whole country might be lost. And what’s left of its laws, Constitution, traditions, common sense, and safety.

And even if the Democrats can be stopped on Tuesday and prevented from further “transforming” America into Venezuela 2.0 – what then?
