[Khaotic's Collection] Coin Error Types P2- Hub & Dies Errors
For a good minute I was trying to find a full list of coin errors so I could understand every single one as well as practice looking for errors by looking at my change over and over again before I started collecting. And eventually I did find something. I don't think it's a complete list of every coin error ever, but it's as full and descriptive of a list that I could fine. And for a guy barely going from noob to amateur, it's good enough.
I've already took a look at the 1st category, preparation errors. Now it's time for the 2nd category. Hub and Die Errors. Dies are striking stamps that give coins their design. The front and back designs are engraved on 2 separate dies that strike the coin. If a coin ever seems to have missing design elements or the face of the coin is just all crooked, then there i usually and issue with the dies. If the die starts to have defects and begins to deteriorate then it could effect the designs of the coin. Such us the die cracking or completely breaking. Which will show on the coin.
