Aired as a serial "keep 'em in their seats, and wait for the next one . . . tomorrow!" on "The MICKEY MOUSE CLUB" on American afternoon T.V. in the mid-'50s, this series was based on the massively popular AMERICAN series of books called, "The Hardy Boys." The Boys were would-be detectives; brothers; sons of a detective who was ALWAYS out of town . . .
This is all of the "Applegate" episodes. [About 20 of 'em.] If you skip through the credits, it's very easy to watch these in a sitting or two, if thou art so inclined. Wholesome family/kids'/(even adult) entertainment.
It is an idealized peep into the middle-class suburban American '50s: The dress; the vocabulary; the attitude; the political-incorrectness; THE COMMON HUMAN DECENCY; the morals; the fun; the ability to mind your own business, and others would mind theirs . . . an American ideal that has been killed by lunatics, and non-assimilating migrants.
(TOMMY KIRK and TIM CONSIDINE are the boys/actors. The other actors are great character actors.)
