Lockdowns had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19

So much of our response to Covid-19 here in the United States never made sense to me. Never in the history of pandemics have lockdowns been used. Most viruses spread easier indoors. During every previous pandemic, the focus has been on protecting those who are most vulnerable, while treatment and prevention protocols are developed. None of that was done here in the United States.

Medical scientists, virologists and disease experts have said for more than eighty years that viruses only decrease from a pandemic to endemic after being able to circulate through a population. The doctors and scientists who were critical of lockdowns by claiming that we were only delaying the inevitable were dismissed by legacy media as crackpots.

We did not have credible experts guiding or making decisions based on science.

Lockdowns in the U.S. and Europe had little or no impact in reducing deaths from COVID-19, according to a new analysis by researchers at Johns Hopkins University.

"The lockdowns during the early phase of the pandemic in 2020 reduced COVID-19 mortality by about 0.2%, said the broad review of multiple scientific studies."
