Bach most likely completed this concerto for violin, harpsichord and string orchestra in 1726. The concerto includes elements from the Prelude and Fugue BWV. 894 (composed circa 1715) and his Organ sonata BWV. 527 (composed circa 1726).

This concerto is comprised of three movements:
