All new cars will be required to have camera monitoring technology to detect drunk drivers in a provision included within the infrastructure bill appearing before the United States Senate. The disturbing article from Bloomberg reported that the proposed system monitors a driver for signs of being distracted, impaired, or fatigued. It accomplishes this by using a ‘sensor’ that scans drivers’ eyes for signs of impairment or distraction.
