Another project for the RAF Snaith museum workshop....
Today we continue on the strip down of a Bristol Hercules reduction gear from Halifax MZ763 of 78 Squadron which flew from RAF Breighton. Sadly when returning from a bombing mission over Germany MZ763 was shot down by a Heinkel HE219 over the Netherlands, four crew bailed out, sadly one parachute failed to open, the other three crew perished, so a loss of four young airmen. Could this reduction gear rotate again?
