The Great Holocaust Trial of 1985

Ernst Zundel was prosecuted in Toronto under an archaic False News provision of an old legal code. He faced two years in prison if convicted for his documented Holocaust denial as written in his published book, 'Did Six Million Really Die.'

Zundel put the Holocaust' itself on trial and his defense was initially regarded as preposterous. The trial was expected to be a quick silencing of Zundel and his supporters, but in a startling reversal, the 'survivors' who had appeared in court in order to send him to jail, had to submit their testimony to scrutiny, something that had never happened before and has never happened since. As a result, reporters and journalists who covered the 1985 trial, produced broadcasts that turned Canada upside down.
