Dr Robert McClelland was the surgeon in charge, receiving the fatally injured president into his trauma room at Parkland Hospital in Dallas. When standing over the patient, dr McClelland had a clear view of the injury on the president’s head. It was an exit wound in the back of the head, right parietal. An exit wound from a frontal shot. A second entry wound in the front of the neck was used for applying a tracheostomy to secure breathing.
