Leon Czolgosz

Leon Frank Czolgosz (May 5th 1873 - October 29th 1901) was an American of Polish descent, steelworker and anarchist who on September 6th 1901 shot and wounded the 25th president of the United States, William McKinley with a .32 caliber Iver Johnson revolver twice in the abdomen at point blank range before being overpowered and arrested. McKinley died on September 14th of an infection from his gunshot wound. Czolgosz was put on trial and found guilty of the crime, and was sentenced to death, being executed by electric chair on October 29th.
