These are two tracks from their imho best album "A Deeper Kind Of Slumber" (1997): "Kite" and "A Deeper Kind Of Slumber". Both incredibly beautiful, hypnotic and otherworldly. It's hard to believe that these guys from Sweden started out as a Death Metal band. This material has absolutely *nothing* to do with blastbeats and growling. And that's good!
"A Deeper Kind Of Slumber" is like a darker version of Pink Floyd.
Tiamat went more in the Goth Metal direction after this album and ditched the trippy elements, which is a shame in my opinion. Gamers may have heard later Tiamat if they played "Vampire The Masquerade: Bloodlines". In the goth disco "The Asp Hole" the song "Cain" from the album "Prey" (2003) was played (among others).
If you like psychedelic melancholy (or melancholic psychedelia?), give "A Deeper Kind Of Slumber" a shot. The first track "Cold Seed" is pretty straightforward and gets stuck in your brain, and then the trip begins.
