How the Deep State Created the #DeepChurch: From Seminaries to Soup Kitchens
Links in comments. The most important piece of evidence was a letter that linked the four suspects to the National Commission on Hispanic Affairs (NCHA) of the Protestant Episcopal Church, a charitable organization based in New York City that funded several projects to assist Hispanic communities all over the United States. An investigation into NCHA revealed that its board of directors included individuals who had been identified as “persons of interest” in New York and Chicago. In particular, there was evidence that these persons had received funding for a series of unspecified activities, including personal and travel expenses.
A Grand Jury was instituted in New York to compel the Episcopal Church to furnish records of these financial transactions and explain its ties with the FALN. Maria Cueto, Executive Director of the Commission, and Raisa Nemiken, her secretary, were subpoenaed to appear before the Grand Jury, but refused to testify and were held in contempt of court.59 These events raised public attention and caused a divide within the church among those who were willing to cooperate with public authorities and those who considered the government’s action as an invasion of their constitutional right to religious freedom.
Supporters gathered at the scene, shouting at the agents: “Get out of here, damned FBI,” and “FBI, cowards, assassins, terrorists!”7 In Aguadilla, the FBI searched the home of another CEDECO director, Presbyterian minister and independentist José Morales.
CEDECO is a community partner of Puerto Rico Rises Corp which leased a network of shuttered public schools across PR. They distribute food & supplies for disaster recovery aid- and provide workshops. They also partner with churches across the island which seems especially strange given the group’s stance on LGBTQ & Marxist socialist beliefs.
By acquiring the right to use 6 of the closed schools and turn them into Community Development Centers CEDECO, PRR is returning to these communities a common space to be educated and developed. Offer social entities a workspace to share for the implementation of their programs and projects, compensating any lack of services provided by the Government. It also provides a food bank, a preventive health clinic, a market and a garden area for farmers. Create jobs, promote culture and increase tourism.
