Although the Coronavirus, also known as COVID-19, is currently confined to a few localised and (hopefully) contained outbreaks in the UK there is every fear that it may spread into the wider community. Like many others I have bought supplies of long-life food to reduce the need to leave the home should the worst happen and began searching for protective face masks to guard against airborne infections.
After first selling out of supplies more masks and other protective items are finding there way back online often at inflated prices. One of the many masks I have bought is this one which - for what it is worth - specifically claims to protect against the Coronavirus.
The set of three masks from OX seem decent quality being quite thick with a metal strip and tape to help keep it in place around the nose as gaps between the face and mask will let air borne particulates in. A useful instruction leaflet is included to which makes reassuring claims about the efficiency of the mask. The hand santiser made by DEB Cutan seems to be a quality item too.
Of course, I cannot make any claim about how well this mask will actually work and have no desire to put it to the test but first impressions are reasonably encouraging. The hand santiser comes in a reasonably large 100ml bottle and seems to be of clinical quality and more than simple liquid soap.
Priced at £19.99 this kit is certainly not cheap and before the current crisis, I would expect to have paid around £10 for it but can put a price on health? If you can find no better I would suggest this is a decent buy.
