This is a continuation of the previous video.
It was a little later when I went out and found the deer a little further from the house. One ran away, but another stood its ground.
I realized that the two I saw were not the only deer around, and that they had worked out some plan with the other deer that I could not see.
I looked into the pasture, because I suspected there might be some deer hidden away there. Somehow, if there were, they managed to transfer themselves to behind the poplar trees on the other side of the road without my seeing them. Then when they were all set, the deer started moving slowly toward the fence line and then proceeded due east toward the woods.
It is clear to me that the deer coordinate their movements and that none of this is without some form of communication. Just because I do not hear them making any sounds does not mean that they are not transmitting meaningful signals to each other.
The deer are very social, and they act as a group.
