The X-22 supersonic missile, also called "Storm", was manufactured back in the days of the USSR. It was first tested in 1963, but due to a large number of technical errors, the tests were delayed for 3 years.

This missile was developed to hit radar-contrast point and plane targets, i.e. aircraft carriers or air strike groups.

The missile has a launch mass of 6 tons and a speed of about Mach 3.5 (over 4,000 kilometers per hour). These missiles are capable of hitting targets at a range of 300 kilometers.

The X-22 can carry up to 960 kilograms of conventional warhead or a nuclear warhead. This is more than carried by the Kalibr, Kinzhal, X-101/X-555 and other missiles. The missile is 11.6 meters long and 94 centimeters in diameter.

The missile's accuracy leaves much to be desired - about 50% of launched warheads hit within 600 meters of the designated target and this is the main problem of this obsolete missile
