Can I divorce my husband? My wife? What did Jesus say about divorce? (Pastoral address) [2019]

Be faithful. Do not become guilty of putting assunder what God has joined together. Do not leave. Do not divorce except if your spouse has committed fornication or if your spouse is an unbeliever and will not live with you. Any other reason for divorce will mean that you are the one trying to put assunder what God has joined together and you become guilty of adultery and share a major portion of the guilt your spouse will be forced to bear from your rejection of God's law on divorce and remarriage.

If you cannot do these things, then the issue is more fundamental in your relationship with God. It is at the core of your salvation and reflects the missing core feature of humility. GOD OPPOSES THE PROUD AND GIVES GRACE TO THE HUMBLE. You were saved by grace, which means your heart was humble at one time, while you were even still a sinner! Then God showed you grace. You must live in that humility in order to continue to receive grace. Are things going wrong? If you are wanting to divorce for reasons besides the two mentioned, then you would have to answer YES! They are going wrong because you no longer have the grace of God. That is because you no longer have a humble heart. Throw yourself on the floor and break yourself. We are all just bags of dust, filled with breath from God, and our lights turned on. Our opinions do not matter. We must put ourselves in the right position before God's eyes. Then it might be possible to save your marriage. If your spouse is the one who will not humble themselves before God, then you must still obey God.
