I’m sharing this because I think it’s important for trans-identified individuals to receive psychological and medical care that enable them to live fulfilling, emotionally stable lives. In order to make sure this is happening, I think we need to be brutally honest about the pros and cons of transition procedures. Sugarcoating (or even outright denying) the pitfalls does not help trans-identified people make decisions that will ultimately lead them to greater happiness and satisfaction in life.
