What did Jesus Mean When he Said Forgive not Seven but Seventy-Seven Times. The Spiritist Doctrine supplies the answer – it is because our lives may be affected by other spirits: Spirits who may seek revenge for wrongs done in past lives – they may pursue us in the spirit and the physical world. When this occurs, it slows down the ascent of the spirit taking revenge and the spirit receiving it. Also, the Spirit Realm doesn’t like unresolved conflicts. You may be born into a family in which you either wronged or they wronged you – all to create a reconciliation of all players.
