Should hate speech be banned ? Or is hate speech free speech and protected under the first amendment? Unfortunately, many Americans think banning hate speech is the way to go.

A survey by the campaign for free speech shows that 48% of Americans want to ban hate speech, and 51% want to rewrite or update the first amendment. There have also been a number of laws enacted in the US to try and ban hate speech. All together, its safe to say that free speech is under attack.
