Identity Fraud is an increasing problem these days made worse by the increasing popularity of wireless debit and credit payment cards. When queueing up it is possible for suitably equipped criminals to scan the wireless card in your pocket or wallet and download your payment details from it. That cannot happen with this new wallet from Donword.
The wallet is supplied in a simple paper sleeve with added protection for the wallet. Inside is the wallet itself together with a product information sheet and promotional materials.
The 4.92 x 3.94 x 0.98-inch wallet is made from distressed leather and features a full-length external metal zipper, an easy access full-size banknote pouch, a zipped coin pocket, a windowed ID card pocket, eight card slots, two small slots suitable for SIM or memory cards. Externally it has a single full-width easy access pocket.
The main selling point for this wallet is the RFID protection it affords. There are no separate cards that need to be fitted, the RFIS screening is built into the wallet itself. It offers protection for all 13.56MHz devices - credit, debit, Drivers Licence and most ID cards. It does not offer protection for the far less commonly used 125Khz frequencies used by some ID Badges, old style Hotel Cards, building access cards. However, for most people, it offers all the card protection you will need.
Judged just as a wallet it is perfectly good. It is well made and robust, attractively designed and offers a wide range of pockets, all lined with an upmarket silk-like material, and at £22.99 is not overpriced.
