Found this little gem of a videos still stored on my HDD from time of when I have extensively played Test Drive Unlimited and later Test Drive Unlimited 2. Just in time for me getting excited about TDU 3 being announced recently. I want to make sure, this will be saved online for me to "never" lose it.
So my dear subscribers, please forgive me. I know that this is old and low quality, but let me explain why this is so important to me.
Because of TDU 1, I bought a G25 steering wheel. Pedals, gearbox. And I felt like I was in a real simulator.
We had weekly meetings of our then Slovak and Czech gang, which always started by driving from the Lighthouse and around the island, then our journey was decided by the "selected" leaders. We took turns in who would lead, and we were almost always at least two groups of 8 (a pity that there could not be more players) stacked behind each other in a row like a wagons on a train.
Mostly just slow-pace cruising, so that everyone could kept close to each other, even with the owners of "older" or "sub-machines", and it was an incredible feeling when it started to accelerate slowly over time as we became "one" with our machine. Then, we let the slowest car to the front as the leader, and he put the pedal to the metal every time he could (we drove like in real-life, but without the speed limit) and we still followed him a meter apart, like a "road-train" driving in and out of the traffic.
It was like a dream. Oh, how much I wish I could live it again.
Me and my mates going out for a cruise in our dream cars. Total relaxation, beautiful nature, we took photos on a different "rest areas", and always took "selfie" at the end of each ride.
I was honestly addicted. The best gaming experience I ever had to date. I would have never guessed that I would said that about a racing game. I always preferred FPS, open world RPG's and story rich adventures.
If the TDU 3's driving will feel like in TDU 1, the graphics will be realistic looki..
